1914 mugshot of Soviet revolutionary & Cheka director Felix Dzerzhinsky, aka “Iron Felix.” Dzerzhinsky was the architect of the Soviet security state, leading the first 3 Soviet secret police organizations from 1917-26. He died of a heart attack immediately after giving a 2-hour speech (2048×1270)
