1892, A family poses in front of 1341 year old Sequoia tree nicknamed ‘Mark Twain’ that was felled in 1892 after a team of two men spent 13 days sawing it. The giant tree was 331 feet tall (100 meters) and had a diameter of 16 feet (4.9 meters). [600 × 800]

The giant statue of supreme leader Kim il sung in Pyongyang North korea. The statue was unveiled in 1972 to mark the 60th birthday of il sung and eventually replaced in 2012 with a smaller statue and a Kim Jong il one next to it (photo taken in the 80s) (2151×2527)
