The Kent State shootings occurred on May 4, 1970, when the Ohio National Guard opened fire on university students protesting the U.S. invasion of Cambodia during the Vietnam War. In a span of 19 seconds, guardsman fired dozens of rounds, killing four students and wounding nine others. [300×800]
