The only known meeting to have occurred between Mustafa Kemal ‘Ataturk,’ the founder of modern Turkey, & US army Chief of Staff general Douglas Macarthur, (both top left) 1932. Macarthur would outlive Ataturk, who died from complications of alcoholism in 1938, by almost 26 years. (1029×768)
