A Japanese A6M5 Zero Kamikaze plane coming in to strike USS White Plains (CVE-66) during the Battle of Samar, October 1944. Luckily the carrier was in a hard turn which threw off the fighter’s angle of approach and he only managed to clip the back of the ship and spin into the water. [1062×1177]
